Alysha is passionate about helping couples heal from affairs/betrayals, enhance their friendship, better manage conflict and reignite passion in their relationship. She also works with Premarital Couples to help them create lasting love and is a Clinical Social Work Supervisor.

Through collaboration, she walks with her clients on the path of new skill development and emotional healing. Her belief is that each person has unique strengths and values that need to be supported and developed to foster lifelong health and happiness.
Through her extensive experience, Alysha has honed her skills in working with individuals and couples with a wide range of issues and is effective in facilitating emotional well-being with mood issues, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem, stress management and general mental health concerns. Valuing and supporting diversity, Alysha provides a welcoming environment for those in the LGBTQ community.

Traditional weekly counseling can be done in her office or online. She offers 1 to 4 day Marathon Therapy for couples desiring a more intensive approach, couples who have difficulty scheduling weekly appointments or for those who do not have a Gottman Therapist in their area (her office is in close proximity to Bush Intercontinental Airport). In addition, she teaches The Art & Science of Love Couples Weekend Workshops multiple times a year.
As a Master Trainer and Consultant for The Gottman Institute, Alysha offers clinicians Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training. She also works with clinicians in the Consultation Track to become Certified Gottman Therapists, and serves as a consultant for the Gottman University Outreach Program. She is a supervisor for clinicians working towards their License in Clinical Social Work and a consults with other therapist wanting to enhance their couples counseling skills. Alysha is on the Speaker’s Bureau for The Gottman Institute and is available to do speaking engagements or provide interviews on a wide variety of relationship topics.
From a young age Alysha was drawn to working with individuals and couples to help them develop a sense of empowerment. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Women’s Studies and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Utah, Alysha began her career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her experience in the human service field spans thirty years and includes directing a homeless shelter in the Washington DC area, working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and supporting individuals coping with the loss of a loved one due to cancer. A successful private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah set the stage for her current work. After moving to Texas she worked at Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center and became a Social Work Supervisor for students and interns. In 2007, she and Mary Beth George teamed up to create what is now known as Couples Counseling and Psychotherapy Associates, a thriving practice that serves Kingwood and surrounding communities.
